Because it was just a scratch. Recent pictures show no visible wound whatsoever. No medical report was ever released.
His initial bandage that was put on by medical personnel was much smaller. That big bandage everyone saw at the RNC was done deliberately for show and was just a desperate grab for sympathy votes. And the sheep fell for it.
But like the psychopath he is, he immediately played up an assassination attempt into a marketing opportunity.
